I’m not going to lie to you tumbleworld, I’ve taken a lover, who we will call The Saint. The Saint is kind, honest and, so far, does not stress me out. Also, the Saint is conveniently located just outside of Williamsburg, where the good restaurants are plentiful.
After a night of having sex, I like to have a really large, fat laden meal. So, on this particular morning last week I stopped at DuMont, where I ordered the Lamb BLT. This sandwich was literally so orgasmic, that if I wasn’t literally fresh out of orgasms at this point, I would have had another. I’m not sure what kind of bread it was, but it was warm and toasted and spread thick with a tangy tomato jam and the most crazy town delicious rosemary aoli. Then, some watercress and some tart pickled red onions. Remind me from now on to make all my sandwiches with tomato jam and pickled onions. Alternately - note to self - learn to make tomato jam.
The waiter explained to me the extensive process that goes into making lamb bacon. It is apparently really difficult to cut thin, which is why it was in lardon-esque slices. But it definitely tasted less intense then pork bacon so it works. I will eat chunks of roasted lamb fat any day.
This sandwich definitely goes on the top 5 list of 2011 meals with the lamb burger at the Breslin and the brussel sprout ceasar salad at Almond, the sushi at 1 or 8 and, last but not least the brunch at Becco.
