Halloween weekend in New York city turned out to be no joke.  And when I say Halloween weekend, I mean it’s not a 1 day holiday here, but a three day affair.  Three days in which half the people I saw on the subway, in restaurants and in stores were in costume.  My dinner was served to me one night by a waiter covered in fake blood, wearing a suit meant to look like there was a hole in his body.  

I only went to two Halloween parties.  One was at the bar on the corner of my street, but the other was a big, Broadway actor filled affair thrown by a guy, now named Big B.  I met Big B on set of Law and Order.  A schmoozy, self promoting manifestation of every agent you ever met, he told me that, rather then look for an assistant job, he just started taking clients, got his agent license and began his own talent agency.  Got to admire his tenacity.  When he found out about the casting director I used to work for, he invited me to his party.  

I actually did well!  I made friends, got a bunch of phone numbers and went out to a bar with a bunch of people from the party after.  One of the actresses from Addams Family kissed me, but I backed away.  Lately, I’m so wired on this new hustle, I think everything below my waist is closed for business.
